Built for everyday use

A shed should feel solid every time you open the door.

The difference between a shed that simply fills a space and one that becomes a useful part of the garden is in how it is built. Structure, materials and the details around the floor, roof, doors and windows all matter.

Whether it is opened every day or used to keep valuable tools, bikes and equipment out of the weather, it should feel secure, practical and properly put together for the way it will be used over time.

Straightforward, useful and built with the same care as every ShedBox building.

Everyday Storage

A proper place for everything that ends up in the garden.

Garden furniture, tools, mowers, outdoor equipment and all the things that are useful but awkward to store can quickly take over garages, utility rooms and side passages. A well-planned shed gives them a dedicated place of their own.

Good storage is less about having more space and more about using the space properly.

Bikes, Tools & Equipment

Easy to get into. Easy to keep organised.

When a shed is storing bikes, larger tools or garden equipment, access matters just as much as floor space. Wider doors, sensible positioning and a clear route through the building can make everyday use far easier.

The right layout means less moving things around just to get to the thing you actually need.

Gardening & Hobbies

More than storage when you need it to be.

A shed can also give you a practical place for potting, gardening, small projects or hobbies, with room for a bench, shelving and the equipment you want close to hand.

A simple building can still be thoughtfully planned around the way you use it.

Shed specification

Planned around what needs to go inside.

A useful shed starts with more than choosing a size. Access, storage, construction and the practical details all need to work around what you intend to keep inside and how often you need to use it.

01 / Size & Layout

Make the available space work properly.

Bikes, garden tools, machinery, furniture and shelving all use space differently. We can plan the footprint and internal layout around what actually needs to fit rather than simply working to a standard shed size.

02 / Doors & Access

Make the awkward things easy to get in and out.

Single doors, wider openings, double doors and their position on the building can all be considered around bikes, mowers, equipment and the way you approach the shed.

03 / Construction

A shed that feels properly built.

The timber structure, floor, cladding, roofing, doors and windows are considered as one complete building, giving you something solid and practical for everyday use.

04 / Practical Details

Think about how the inside will be used too.

Windows, shelving, benches, storage positions and electrics can all be considered from the beginning, helping make the finished shed easier to organise and more useful from day one.

Built around your site

The right shed starts with the right place for it.

Where the shed sits, how you approach it and what the ground is like all affect how practical the finished building will be. We look at the whole site before deciding what the project needs.

01 / Position & Access

Put it where it works best.

Boundaries, paths, existing buildings and the way you move around the garden all matter. We can help position the shed so access remains practical without wasting useful garden space.

02 / Groundworks

A solid shed needs a properly prepared base.

ShedBox can take care of the ground preparation and base required for the building, helping create a level, stable foundation before installation begins.

03 / Installation

Built and installed by ShedBox.

Once the position, size and specification are agreed, our team can prepare the site, build the shed and complete the installation as one joined-up project.

Quality & materials

The specification matters as much as the design.

A bespoke layout only works if the building itself is properly considered. Materials, roofing, fixings and finishes are selected as part of the specification for your project.

Timber shed FAQs

Straight answers to the practical questions.

From size and access to storage, groundworks, electrics and installation, these are some of the questions people ask when planning a shed.

Do I need to know the exact shed size before I enquire?

No. Approximate dimensions are useful, but you do not need to have the final size decided. Tell us where the shed will sit, what you need to store and the space you have available, and we can help shape the building around the project.

Can the shed be built to a bespoke size?

Yes. The size can be planned around the available space and what the building needs to accommodate, rather than forcing the project into a standard off-the-shelf footprint.

Can I choose where the doors and windows go?

Yes. Door and window positions can be considered around access, natural light, internal storage and the way larger items such as bikes, mowers or equipment need to move in and out.

Can I have wider or double doors?

Yes. Where the project requires it, wider access can be considered to make larger equipment, bikes, machinery or garden furniture easier to move in and out of the building.

Can the inside be planned around shelving or a workbench?

Yes. Shelving, storage positions, workbenches and clear floor space can all be considered when planning the internal layout so the shed is useful from the day it is installed.

Can a ShedBox shed be used for hobbies as well as storage?

Yes. Depending on what you need, a shed can combine practical storage with space for gardening, potting, small projects or hobbies. The layout can be planned around both uses.

Can ShedBox handle the groundworks for my shed?

Yes. ShedBox can take care of the groundworks as part of the project, so the preparation and base can be planned alongside the building rather than organised separately.

Can ShedBox include electrical work?

Yes. Where required, electrical work can be included as part of the project, with lighting, sockets and other agreed requirements considered alongside the layout of the shed.

Do ShedBox install the shed?

Yes. ShedBox builds and installs the shed to the agreed specification, giving you one team from the initial project discussion through to installation.

Can ShedBox manage the whole shed project?

Yes. Where required, ShedBox can bring together the building, groundworks, installation and electrical work as one coordinated project, reducing the number of separate contractors you need to organise.

Do I need plans or drawings before I get in touch?

No. A few measurements, photographs of the site and an idea of what you want to store are useful, but you do not need finished drawings before starting the conversation.

Can I get a quote before every detail is decided?

Yes. Start with what you already know. We can help work through the size, layout, access and specification as the project develops before the final details are agreed.
